About Me

Carmen Tockmaji is a young vocalist from Syria. A pharmacy graduate and an Opera student at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus Syria. Being very ambitious, motivated and hardworking, she started singing on schools stages and moved all the way through till Damascus Opera House. Participated in many concerts and events alongside top musicians from Syria, most recently as a solo vocalist in “Women of Mozart” with Symphonic Orchestra at Damascus Opera house, and a concert for charity organization “Basma” in the Opera House as well.

Carmen is a lead vocalist in Rainbow Choir since 2010, participating as solo and choir vocalist, played as solo vocalist with Orpheus Orchestra, in honor of the great artist Wadih El Safi, participated also as a solo vocalist with Longa Band in the band project “Shaam”.

Participated in many concerts with The Higher Institute of Music Choir and Syrian Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Missak Baghbadourian in Damascus Opera House.

Participated as a solo vocalist with Longa Band led by Mr. Al Muthana Ali in an event called “Syria, You Offer Peace to The World”, ceremony of “The Happiest People” in United Arab Emirates on their National Flag Day, and with Arab Philharmonic Choir and Italian Puccini Orchestra, led by Maestro Nahel Al Halabi in 2013.

Participated as a solo and choir vocalist in “The International Heritage Day” Ceremony with Sulhi Al Wadi teachers’ Orchestra in Damascus Opera House 2014 and as a solo opera singer in “European Music” concert, accompanied by Pianist Ghazwan El Zrkly.

Won the first prize for Humanitarian Song during the “Kitharat AL Rouh Festival” while singing with Saint Afram Syriac Choir in 2010. Has recorded many theme songs for Syrian drama works and series with Mr. Iyad Al Rimawi and children songs for children TV channels: MBC3 and Arabic Disney. Carmen is also a professional swimmer, and speaks fluent Arabic, English, French and good knowledge of Italian and German.
